There is no "best". All it matters is what works for you. Check out some builds on http://www.gwpvx.com/PvX_wiki if you don't know what to play.

Depends on your playstyle and what you are doing. (HM,NM, Solo farming, PvP...)

It really doesn't matter what you pick at first -- you'll be able to change your secondary to whatever you want, as many times as you want, not long after you reach the mainland.

And this is good, since every class has multiple popular builds available to them that utilize most secondaries. As said, there is no all-around "best."

So pick whatever allows you to use skills you find useful while on Shing Jea.

Well in that case, go Warrior secondary and aim at:

http://www.gwpvx.com/Build:A/any_PvE_Dagger_Spammer for a build. See the options section for further details. Save Yourselves you can earn through PvP at Fort Aspenwood; or the Jade Quarry.

Important Tip: Get a small longbow or flatbow, no marksmanship requirement. Stick the little bow in weapons slot 4. Starting combat with a tiny bow will help you survive the quests in the city that lies beyond the starting island.

Welcome to the wonderful world of the Assassin! You will love it.

Unless you're speed clearing, it's /Warrior. Your choice should be warrior if you're asking such. Secondaries can be changed back and forth as you wish in outposts later on in the game.

^ the reason Cuilan is saying this is because of "Save Yourselves!", making use of the crapload of adrenaline you won't be using (and also Flurry for people without Critical Agility)

Welcome to Guild Wars!

It has already been mentioned above and in your other thread, but you will be able to choose any secondary profession midway through the game. That being said, I wouldn't worry to much about making a mistake because you can always change it later. Warrior is a pretty good place to start.

I would recommend reading up on some the stickies in the forum to avoid making threads that will inevitibly be closed for rule violations. I hope you enjoy Guild Wars and if you need any help or have any questions pm me.

I have two assassins (one male, the other female.) My first one (male) started as an a/ranger. My second an a/ritualist, but now it don't matter. In PVE I find my skill bar mostly of assassin and eotn pve skills with atleast using 1 or 2 shadow step skills. (I love to bounce. Lol!) In pvp however, I've been mostly an a/elementalist. So choose any secondary it don't matter.

Rather good advice there.
